Jan Storey's career as a song writer, composer includes pop, R&B, Blues and poetic ballads.  She is also a voiceover writer, actor and director, doing the voice of Pete's Dragon, commercials, music videos, and the soon to be released pilot series "What About Bijou" which she wrote, directed and did the voices for with her husband Bill Storey who engineered the project.  She specializes in character voices, animals and children, with her many accents and multi-lingual skills.

Jan's songs and co-writing projects under her music label Red Lady Records and Music Publishing have received critical acclaim and have been featured in film and television as well as performed internationally.  Jan is a distinguished member of ASCAP and a voting member for the Grammy Awards and American Music Awards Associations.

She has co-written and or produced with artists such as Grammy-nominated Chris Bennett (Midnight Express), Randy Hall (guitar player, writer, singer & producer for Miles Davis) Keb Mo (Grammy award winner), Scott Page (Pink Floyd, Toto), Donna Fein (singer Barry Manilow tours), Terry Marshall, Rick Thompson, Eric Doney (world famous composer) to name a few.   The highlight of Jan's career has been to work with her family. This included writing with her incredible daughter and partner Nina Storey, whose phenomenal skills from jotting down her ideas to realizing them recorded and live have lofted her into becoming one the most profound recording artists, writer and performers today.   Jan also wrote, recorded and toured with her extraordinary and talented daughter Rachel Storey, a profound writer, singer, magnetic performer and documentary film maker.  Her partner and husband Bill Storey has not only been her partner on every live tour as the sound engineer, but also her partner in their studio on every project. Being a part of all of this with her family has always been the magic that has driven her.

Jan has co-written and co-produced many CD's over the years, but it began with her first record "Eleven Storeys High" and Tony McShear, her producer, composer, musican and singer.  With the incredible support of her husband Bill Storey, Tony, Scott Page, Chris Boardman, Raymond Pounds along with all the other world class musicians were truely responsible of the direction of her life. It got great reviews in the trades and she was selected in Cash Box Magazine as a favorite for an emerging songwriter and artist.  Her love of writing and producing and her self proclaimed lack of great vocal pipes, led her to focus her career on writing, producing, tour managing, booking and Music Placement.  Jan has placed her own as well as her artist’s songs in over 30 film, TV and commercial placements .  See the

Along with her studio work, Jan tour-managed countless National and International live original music tours. Two of these tours very important to her were a DOD tour as well as a USO tour, both in Europe, that were very rewarding to her because she not only was part of a band both singing and playing percussion.  But more importantly, both tours included her very talented family.  Jan was the tour manager for the tours and performed on the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga as well as managing the band’s month-long USO World's Fair tour in Seville.  This for Jan to experience with her family, the band and soldiers from many different countries was a once in a lifetime experience.  She headed up a 2-year tour with Nina Storey which included tour-support for Jonny Lang as well a stop on the Woodstock 99 Festival.  She continued to tour for over 25 years and always jumps at the chance to hit the road AGAIN!

They have enjoyed many tours domestically together experiencing the crazy, the immeasurable gratification and the unique opportunity to intertwine their own artistic talents together.  Musicians that toured with them both domestically and internationally always, had the opportunity to experience many incredible scenarios along with their shows that can only happen on the road.  Everyone was always family when they became part of her tours.

Her booking skills have taken both she and her artists all over the world including the world famous Montreal Jazz Festival in which she wrote a song in French for the City of Montreal, performed at the festival.  She has booked her artists in festivals all over the USA such as The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Santa Cruz Blues Festival, American Music Festival, AT&T music Festival, Monterrey Blues and Jazz Festival, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Fiddler’s Green and the Pepsi Center to name a very few.

RLRMP has placed many songs in film, TV and commercials such as "Alias", "Better Man", "Girl Friends",  "So You Think You Can Dance", “Broken Hearts Club” and others.  Jan most recently co-wrote (both in french and english) "We Are The Girls" and Chasing The Stars" that were placed in the film "An American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success" featuring the songs.

Jan continues to head up Red Lady Records and Music Publishing in Denver, LA and Ixtapa, MX with her partners Amy Crawford (Director of Research and Marketing) and Bill Storey.  Her emerging placement company is growing in placements and artists. They have a small roster of artists and are also working on building their careers and fanbases.

Jan and her husband Bill have a recording studio in the Palm Springs area
where they continue to work on projects with people from Mexico, Canada, Europe and the US in English, French and Spanish.
Amy Crawford's many years as a camera woman and in production showed that her tiny frame never stopped her from getting the big "shots"  from the Denver Broncos to the studio.  She developed many skills in her work with NBC's affiliate in Denver, Colorado. She quickly developed her skills  to research everything from Film, TV, Commercials and music supervisors.  Discovering opportunities for placement of our catelogue is essential  for the success of submitting and placing the work of our artists.

Her innovative skills as an "idea person" with regard to placement are the key to  contributing  to the placement of Red Lady Music and that of our artists.
